Community Road Update: May 26 and June 1 Onward

We would like to provide advance notice regarding several upcoming roadway maintenance and paving projects that may impact traffic throughout the Big Sky area over the next few weeks. Please note that these dates can always change and I will do my best to keep you informed.

MT 64 Chip Seal Work

CK May has advised that chip sealing operations on the new asphalt along MT 64 are scheduled to begin on June 1, 2026. This work will take place during daytime hours in order to meet product specifications.

During construction, one-way traffic control will be in place. The first few days of work are expected to create the most significant traffic delays. While every effort will be made to minimize impacts and keep traffic moving efficiently, we encourage residents and guests to plan for potential delays and allow for additional travel time. Work will continue throughout the week, though traffic impacts are expected to lessen during the latter portion of the schedule.

US 191 Paving Project

Beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2026, a paving project will take place on US 191 between mile markers 65 and 66. This will be a multi-day project and may result in traffic delays.

Traffic control operations will begin daily with work zone setup at approximately 6:00 AM, followed by active traffic control around 8:30 AM. A pilot car will be utilized through the work zone, and crews will work to minimize delays as much as possible.

Striping & Crosswalk Painting

Additionally, striping work and crosswalk painting on MT 64 and throughout Town Center is currently scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, weather permitting.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these important roadway improvements are completed. Please use caution when traveling through active work zones and plan accordingly for possible delays.

From Awareness to Action: Wildfire Resilience Workshop In Partnership with Big Sky Fire Department

Join SNO, in partnership with Big Sky Fire Department & Alpenscapes, for a solution-oriented workshop and cocktail hour on protecting property for the future in Big Sky’s changing climate.

With a low snow year this winter, wildfire and water usage are important to understand for this coming summer, especially. Many properties struggle to find coverage due to the rising risk of fires and the cost of insuring properties. This workshop will get you involved to learn mitigation strategies and how we are all part of a solution to a more resilient community.

A HUGE THANKS to Moonlight Community Foundation & BSRAD for making this possible.

Local and visitors are welcome to join us Friday, April 3  from 5 – 7pm to see new “Springtime” work and meet some of our artists.

Come join us! Open daily 11-5. Closed Tues & Wed mid April till end of May.

Lone Mountain Land Company is proud to announce the grand reopening event of Buck’s Roadhouse at 46625 Gallatin Road in Big Sky on Friday, December 19, marking a new chapter for one of Montana’s most beloved and storied establishments. The upcoming grand opening honors that legacy while introducing a new era led by Apres Cru, a distinguished hospitality group committed to preserving the history that has made Buck’s a Montana staple.

“Buck’s has long been woven into the fabric of Big Sky,” said team members at Apres Cru. “It’s important to us that we celebrate its past while shaping an experience that feels exciting and memorable for seasons to come.”
