We would like to provide advance notice regarding several upcoming roadway maintenance and paving projects that may impact traffic throughout the Big Sky area over the next few weeks. Please note that these dates can always change and I will do my best to keep you informed.
MT 64 Chip Seal Work
CK May has advised that chip sealing operations on the new asphalt along MT 64 are scheduled to begin on June 1, 2026. This work will take place during daytime hours in order to meet product specifications.
During construction, one-way traffic control will be in place. The first few days of work are expected to create the most significant traffic delays. While every effort will be made to minimize impacts and keep traffic moving efficiently, we encourage residents and guests to plan for potential delays and allow for additional travel time. Work will continue throughout the week, though traffic impacts are expected to lessen during the latter portion of the schedule.
US 191 Paving Project
Beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2026, a paving project will take place on US 191 between mile markers 65 and 66. This will be a multi-day project and may result in traffic delays.
Traffic control operations will begin daily with work zone setup at approximately 6:00 AM, followed by active traffic control around 8:30 AM. A pilot car will be utilized through the work zone, and crews will work to minimize delays as much as possible.
Striping & Crosswalk Painting
Additionally, striping work and crosswalk painting on MT 64 and throughout Town Center is currently scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, weather permitting.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these important roadway improvements are completed. Please use caution when traveling through active work zones and plan accordingly for possible delays.
