Community Road Update – June 25-29

Please be advised of two upcoming roadway updates that may impact travel in the area:

US-191 (Mile Marker 61.3 to 63.3, Near Lava Lake) – Chip Seal Operations
Chip sealing will take place on Thursday, June 26th between 9:00am – 7:00pm. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with pilot cars in operation.

Expect the following:

  • Flaggers directing traffic
  • Lane closures
  • Pilot vehicles guiding vehicles through the work zone
  • Speed limit reduced to 35 mph

We encourage you to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time.

Ousel Falls Road – Striping Update
We were notified today by the Rural Improvement District (RID) administrator, Morrison-Maierle, that they have secured a new contractor and will be striping the Town Center portion of Ousel Falls this weekend (Friday through Sunday, June 27 – 29).

The original contractor experienced several delays and was unable to complete the work before July 1. We appreciate your patience as we worked with the RID administrator to ensure the striping was rescheduled and completed as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as these essential roadway improvements take place. Construction schedules are at the discretion of the Montana Department of Transportation and subject to change.
