Bullish in Big Sky

In another possible sign the local economy is on the rebound, a new addition to the Lone Peak Cinema building is going up in the Town Center.

The two-level add-on will include three retail spaces on the first level and four residential condos above. The now-for-lease spaces are advertised to be available for occupancy this November.

The initial construction of the original building, which now houses Lone Peak Cinema, Ousel and Spur Pizza Co. and real estate offices, started in 2011 under the vision of local developer John Romney.

Prior to that, as far as construction goes, things had been pretty quiet in the Town Center. Most of the building work there took place between 2003 and 2009. Tamarack Court Condos were the first residential project, and Big Sky Western Bank was first commercial building.

Now, the sounds of sawing and hammering have returned.
