SUMMARY:WMPAC: How to Survive Being in a Shakespeare Play
DESCRIPTION:Come enjoy a high school play in Big Sky! Dan Zolidis’ “How to Survive a Shakespeare Play” is a 60-minute modern romp through some of Shakespeare’s most famous characters and scenes in a fun and new way. \nSome day it’s going to happen: You’re going to find yourself on stage\, wearing tights\, and saying things in iambic pentameter. Face it\, you’re in a Shakespeare play\, and that means it’s a pretty good bet you’re going to DIE. The Bard is out for blood\, but this play is here to stop him! How could Romeo and Juliet survive? Julius Caesar? A nameless soldier in Henry the Fifth? What if King Lear had an emotional support llama and didn’t need to make terrible mistakes? Join us in discovering how a dozen of Shakespeare’s plays could’ve turned out differently! If only they listened…

SUMMARY:WMPAC: Arsenic and Old Lace
DESCRIPTION:A timeless favorite of stage and screen\, Arsenic and Old Lace is a wickedly funny dark comedy that has kept audiences laughing for over 80 years. \n\nWritten by Joseph Kesselring and first staged on Broadway in 1941\, the play cleverly mixes farce with the macabre. It centers on the seemingly sweet Brewster sisters\, Abby and Martha\, whose idea of “charity” involves poisoning lonely old men with elderberry wine. Their eccentric nephew Teddy\, who believes he is President Theodore Roosevelt\, helps bury the evidence\, while their drama-critic nephew Mortimer uncovers the family’s deadly secret—just as his criminal brother Jonathan returns home. Fast-paced and hilariously twisted\, the play became a Broadway hit and was adapted into Frank Capra’s classic 1944 film.\n\n\n\n\n\nBig Sky Community Theatre has been gathering locals to the stage annually since 2013 with the purpose of entertaining\, inspiring\, and enlightening audiences. Funded through Big Sky School District’s Adult Education Program\, the theater group comprises volunteer community members of all backgrounds and levels of stage experience.\n\nGet your tickets HERE

SUMMARY:WMPAC: No Winter's Tale
DESCRIPTION:“No Winter’s Tale engages with snow science\, mountain ecosystems\, and sustainable farming practices during our current and future era of climate change.”\n-Dr. Gretchen Minton \n\nNo Winter’s Tale reimagines Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale through a climate-changed Intermountain West\, a realm where vanishing winters reshape both landscape and lives. Minton’s adaptation preserves the original’s emotional core—jealousy\, loss\, and eventual reconciliation—while casting these themes into the urgent and fragile context of ecological collapse and renewal. It’s a deep\, artistic fusion of Shakespearean drama with environmental science and hope. \nWritten and adapted by Gretchen E. Minton (Professor of English\, Montana State University; co-founder of Montana InSite Theatre) \nPresented by Dr. Gretchen Minton and Montana State University Center for Science\, Technology\, Ethics\, and Society (C-STES). \n\n\n\n\nMontana InSite Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that uses theatre to explore current issues\, including environmental degradation\, climate change\, and other crises that impact both local and global communities. We aim to stage productions in site-specific locations that in and of themselves provide context and meaning to the text and images. \n\nwww.montanainsitetheatre.org \nGet your tickets HERE

SUMMARY:Warren Miler Performing Arts Center: Grease: The Musical
DESCRIPTION:With a hip-shaking rock ’n’ roll score featuring hits like “Summer Nights\,” “Greased Lightnin’” and “We Go Together\,” Grease celebrates Rydell High’s class of 1959 in all their duck-tailed\, bobby-soxed\, gum-snapping glory.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Annual High School Spring Musical \nThe costumes! The dancing! The songs! Grease\, the Musical comes to the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center for our community’s spring high school musical\, the not-to-be-missed annual event before spring break comes and ski season winds down. This 1970s classic set in the 1950s is a throw-back to drag racing\, sock hops and drive in movies with a score of favorite songs like Greased Lightning\,’ “Hand-Jive” and “We Go Together.” Sure to be a sell out; locals have been asking for this show for over a decade. \nPlease Note \nThis musical (like the movie you and your kids have watched on television) has a minor plot line around teenage pregnancy and characters who smoke\, drink\,  lightly swear\, and the existence (or non-existence) of sex is a significant plot line although easy to miss with all the be-bopping and jive on stage. Make your decision about bringing your kids accordingly. The 1978 movie was rated PG. \nNight One \n\n\nSandy: Addy Malinowski \nMarty: Libby Coltea \nFrenchie: Hanna Mittelstaedt \nJan: Elise Daugherty \nRizzo: Harper Morris \nPatty: Ursula Blyth \nMiss Lynch: Maren Sigourney \n\nNight Two\n\nSandy: Frieda Fabozzi \nMarty: Eva Mitchell \nFrenchie: Hazel Buotte \nJan: Anna Masonic \nRizzo: Marley Schack \nPatty: Maren Sigourney \nMiss Lynch: Ursula Blyth
