In effect\, it allowed them to rehearse onstage\, mostly in front of audiences that often ranged in size from five to a hundred people on any given night. Five studio albums followed — Yarn (2007)\, Empty Pockets (2008)\, Come On In (2010)\, Almost Home (2012)\, and Shine the Light On (2013). The band then took to the road\, playing upwards of 170 shows a year and sharing stages with such superstars as Dwight Yoakam\, Charlie Daniels\, Marty Stuart\, Allison Krauss\, Leon Russell\, Jim Lauderdale\, and The Lumineers\, eventually surpassing 1\,000 shows\, half a million miles\, and performances in nearly every state. \nIndeed\, the accolades piled up quickly along the way. Born and raised in the city\, Gros melds funk\, rock\, jazz\, and blues to deliver a sound that is both innovative and unmistakably New Orleans. \nGros launched his career as a solo performer in the early 1990s\, quickly gaining attention from marquee artists such as George Porter Jr. and Snooks Eaglin\, both of whom brought him on board as a supporting musician. As he sat behind the keys\, backing up some of the city’s most iconic musicians\, he soaked in a lifetime of experience and continued to develop his craft. He released his solo debut\, Day’s End\, in 2004. The next dozen years would be dedicated to leading and recording six albums with his band\, Papa Grows Funk. DESCRIPTION:The Arts Council of Big Sky is pleased welcome Baroque Montana back to Big Sky for a concert at the new Big Sky Center for the Art on Friday\, June 20\, 2025. The concert is part of the Bravo! Big Sky classical music series and is partially underwritten by the arts council’s Schwer-Toepffer Memorial Fund.\n\nJoin us for an explosion of music and song from Cape Breton\, Acadia\, 18th century Scotland and the borders\, as well as original music inspired by these ancient traditions.
