DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the 4th of July with our annual 5K road race is one of our favorite events! We’ll hold our in-person race starting at 9:00 am in the Big Sky Community Park. Prizes will be awarded for age group winners and the most patriotic costume.  Wear your red\, white\, and blue on race day!  Immediately following the 5K will be a FREE kids run around the softball bases . No registration required for the kids run\, just show up! \nOr if you prefer\, run it as virtual race. Follow the 5K race route in Big Sky on your own time or run your own 5K anywhere\, letting you support the parks\, trails\, and recreational programming even if you’re not able to be in Big Sky this summer. Have fun with it — jog with strollers\, bring your dogs\, run laps in your backyard\, wear costumes. When you’re done\, upload your time (instructions will be e-mailed to you upon registration) and see how you fared against your friends or friendly rivals. \nIn order to avoid congestion at the registration table on race day\, please pick up your bib number and t-shirt in advance in the lobby of BASE Community Center located at 285 Simkins Drive in Big Sky on Wednesday\, July 3rd between  12 p.m. and 7 p.m. \nFirst 200 registered will be guaranteed a race t-shirt. Register EARLY to secure a shirt in your requested size and get the early registration fee! Price increases to $40 for same day sign-ups.

With words that have so heavily influenced our perception and understanding of the American West\, L’Amour is the perfect muse.\n\n“The idea for the show was sparked by my seventeen-year-old daughter. She suggested I translate one of my works into French\, noting that my affinity for vintage imagery and the timeless charm of French poster design would make a striking combination. When I realized that “L’Amour” was the connecting thread\, the concept quickly came together.”\nL’Amour is synonymous with love and the West. Acclaimed author Louis L’Amour romanticized the American West\, portraying it as a land of adventure\, opportunity\, and rugged individualism.  This has significantly shaped public perception of the American Cowboy and frontier life.  His work bridges American and French cultures\, highlighting the universal appeal of his storytelling and the romanticism of the Western frontier.

DESCRIPTION:A Free Performance of Montana Shakespeare in The Parks is coming to Big Sky! \nCome join Montana Shakespeare in the Parks for a free performance of William Shakespeare’s Winter’s Tale. Pack a picnic\, grab your friends\, and enjoy this world class performance! \nWe will be at the the Town Center Plaza on July 27th at 6:00pm! \nPerformances are FREE\, and seating is first come\, first served. \nOur Inclement weather location will be the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center – Please check MISP’s website and social media for the most up to date information on last-minute location changes! \nWe will have two audio accessibility options available for each performance:\n1. Personal FM receivers and headphones are available to borrow from the merchandise table. \n2. A FREE app may be downloaded so that you can listen to audio from the show on your personal device (Remember to bring your own headphones!) You can follow these instructions!\n– Download the AudioFetch app on your device (iOS & Android compatible)\n– Connect your device to the WiFi network: Shakespeare! (no password required)\n– Open the AudioFetch app to listen to the audio! \nIn many communities\, MSIP will host special pre-show performances from local artists an hour ahead of the show. Check MSIP’s “Events Page” at shakespeareintheparks.org to find out more about pre-shows in your area. \nPerformance Details:\nThe Winter’s Tale spans sixteen years during which a jealous king accuses his wife of infidelity and exiles his newborn daughter to Bohemia where she is raised by shepherds and\, ultimately\, falls in love with the Bohemian king’s son. SUMMARY:Town Center: 2024 Big Sky Farmers Market
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 Big Sky Farmers Market will take place every Wednesday from 5-8pm\, June 5th-September 25th in Big Sky Town Center (Market stretches from Town Center Plaza\, along Town Center Ave. and over to Fire Pit Park). Please note that for the month of September the Fall Markets will downsize to a smaller venue tentatively at the Town Center Plaza. \nApplications forms can be filled out and submitted HERE. Applications will be reviewed by our team for approval with an emphasis towards local/regional farmers\, professional artisans\, young artists/entrepreneurs\, and community organizations – all with a goal of helping to foster and maintain a market that is true to our Big Sky mountain culture. The Fall Markets for the month of September are by invitation. Please let our team know if your brand is interested in attending. Once reviewed we will notify vendors of the status of their application. Thank you for your patience as we process your requests and we look forward to another great market season.
