SUMMARY:WMPAC: Béla Fleck & The Flecktones
DESCRIPTION:“A special night of structured\, yet defiantly improvisational music that the packed audience relished.” —Live review\, OKC Tower Theatre \nBanjoist Béla Fleck\, harmonica and keyboardist Howard Levy\, bassist Victor Wooten\, and percussionist/drumitarist Roy “Future Man” Wooten have been creating some of the most forward-thinking music of their generation. Blending classical\, jazz\, bluegrass\, African music\, electric blues\, and Eastern European folk\, their sound is a genre-spanning conversation between four brilliant musical minds. \nFirst formed in 1988\, the Flecktones quickly became known for their bold musical experimentation and intricate\, improvisation-rich performances. Each member brings a distinct voice and vision\, creating a sound that only emerges when they’re on stage together. \nMusical Trailblazers\n \nSince their inception in 1988\, Béla Fleck (banjo)\, Victor Wooten (bass)\, Roy “Futureman” Wooten (drumitar)\, and Howard Levy (harmonica\, piano) have continuously pushed the boundaries of music. Together\, they’ve garnered multiple Grammy Awards and captivated audiences worldwide with their intricate compositions and joyful interplay. Whether improvising on the spot or delivering one of their signature pieces\, The Flecktones offer a musical journey that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable. \nflecktones.com
