December 5 - Proposed Opening Day for Moonlight Basin

Schedule opening day for Winter 08-09 ski season at Moonlight Basin . Conditions Permitting.

December 6 - Pancakes with Santa

9:30 AM at Big Sky Town Center in the Simkins-Hallin Showroom. (11 Lone Peak Drive)Pancakes for the kids, Photos with Santa, coffee and pastries for the parents.Bring your Christmas Wish List!

December 6 - Boots and Belles Ball

Saturday, December 6th, The Boots and Belles Ball will mark the start of the winter holiday season for the Big Sky area. The evening kicks off at 6:00 p.m. in the always glamorous and festive dance hall at Buck’s T-4 Lodge. There will be a delectable array of food generously donated by local area restaurants. The band this year is the ever popular Ten Foot Tall and Eighty Proof. Be sure to bring your holiday spirit, your appetite and your dancing shoes for the two-step contest; you will need all three to get you through the night! December 8 - Madrigal Dinner

The annual Madrigal Dinner in Big Sky will be held at Buck's T4 Lodge. No host bar begins at 5:30pm and seating is at 6:00pm. A traditional medieval Christmas Feast prepared by the professionally trained Buck's T4 kitchen will be served. The dinner is accompanied by the Montana State University Choir and the Montanans. Seating is very limited, so purchase tickets early. Call the Big Sky Association for the Arts at 877-995-2742 for tickets or information.

December 11 - Christmas at Town Center

Join us on Lone Peak Drive to celebrate the season! Christmas Tree Lighting, holiday shopping, horse drawn sleigh rides. Music, food and fun for everyone!

December 12 - Big Sky Christmas Stroll

Enjoy the Big Sky Christmas Stroll from 5:00-8:30pm. Come stroll both the Meadow Village and the Big Sky Town Center to help celebrate the season. Enjoy holiday festivities geared towards the whole family!

December 13 - RUST

RUST at Big Sky Resort is a nighttime rail event that features local and regional skiers and snowboarders who entertain the crowd, showing off their newest tricks on the rails and funboxes that are illuminated in the base area. After the fireworks show the crowd can visit parties held in the Mountain Mall. Contact 406-995-5765 for more information.

December 15 - Yellowstone National Park Update

West entrance to Yellowstone National Park opens to over-the-snow travel.

December 18 - Business After Hours

The Chamber of Commerce invites all Chamber members to the December business after hours. This after hours will be hosted by Big Sky Resort at Andiamo Italian Grill in the Mountain Village Center. The networking will begin at 5:30pm. For more information call the Chamber at 406-995-3000.

December 21 - 7th Annual Winter Concert

The Big Sky Chapel will be holding its 7th annual Winter Concert featuring the Jeni Fleming ensemble on Sunday, December 21st at 7:00 pm. The Jeni Fleming Combo consists of piano/keyboard, percussion, bass, guitars and saxophones, all wrapped in the soaring evocative pleasure of Jeni's voice. Donations accepted at the door.

December 24 - Christmas Eve Festivities at Big Sky Resort

The Christmas spirit is alive at Big Sky Resort! Events include visits by Santa and the elves, special interdenominational services, a traditional Christmas buffet dinner, caroling and other festivities for the family.
All of these events take place at the Huntley Lodge and Yellowstone Conference Center. Other activities are available—including alpine skiing, sleigh rides dinners, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, horseback riding and dog sledding.

December 31 - New Year's Ever Fireworks Display and Celebration

Big Sky Resort offers a wide choice of celebrations for the New Year, including a special dinner dance with big band entertainment, a teen and children’s dance and a variety of music in the local bars. The fireworks display over the mountains highlights the evening.
