Big Sky is in close proximity to Yellowstone National Park
Big Sky is only 15 miles from the northern border of Yellowstone National Park (YNP) and 48 miles north of the West entrance. In 2007, YNP set a new visitation record with 3,151,342 visitors, which represents an increase of nearly 10% over 2006. About 1.3 million of YNP visitors enter the park through the West Yellowstone entrance, which makes Big Sky such a strategic location to capture some of the YNP tourists as they travel Highway 191 to the park.
