June 25 brought the rumbling of engines into the Big Sky Town Center. The Annual Motorcycle Round-up held its annual summer event in Big Sky this past Wednesday. Warm, summer weather welcomed the crowd of an estimated 1,000 spectators and enthusiasts.

The Montana Motorcycle Roundup is inits fourth season, and continues to grow each year. Four years ago, Stacy March and Amy Breider, who share a passion for riding motorcycles, had a vision of putting together an event for families during the summer. They also wanted to use this event to educate people on motorcycle safety. It has since grown to include toy haulers, snowmobiles, audio equipment, car repair, go karts, boats and more. The producers typically offer the food and beverage salesto a non-profit organization as a way of giving back to the community.

“Putting on the Montana Motorcycle Roundup is a lot of work, and sometimes we ask ourselves why we do this every year; then after the event takes place and we have made new friends and provided a lot of fun for everyone we know it is all worth it,” Amy said.

For the Big Sky event, a Town Center map was provided with all of the participating businesses listed on it. The public was asked to walk around to each of the participating businesses to get a sticker to put on the map showing they entered each of the sponsors, entering them into the drawing for the prizes that were donated. (Each sponsor was asked to donate $25.00 in gift certificates, some did more!) The Montana Motorcycle Roundup hired SCS racing, a freestyle motorcycle event to entertain the crowd with death-defying jumps, flips, and acrobatics. As they always do, SCS brought prizes and a very large, enthusiastic crowd!

The Big Sky event was a huge success, and Stacy and Amy said they would certainly look at putting the event on again next year. They made some new friends and had a wonderful time. The feedback they received from the locals and business owners far exceeded what they had expected! The Motorcycle Roundup would like to thank the businesses and fans for their support Events like this can't happen without everyone's involvement.
