The new Big Sky Farmers Market will begin this summer after the 4th of July and will run every other week into September. The tentative day and time is Thursdays from 4:30-7:00pm at Fire Pit Park at Big Sky Town Center. The next planning meeting is set for Tuesday, March 24 at 6:30pm at the Simkins-Hallin Showroom in the RJS Tower Building at Town Center.

Several community members came together recently to discuss ideas for the market. There will be great opportunities for vendors, and everyone is invited to participate. We would love to see growers and artisans showcase everything from fresh produce, to pottery, jewelry, baked goods, flowers, sweet treats, clothing, group fundraisers (scouts, skiing), and even a musician’s area (budding and professional!).  Children are encouraged to join in the fun as well, with lemonade stands, friendship bracelets, bake sales, flowers, or whatever else they can get their hands on! There will also be an inflatable and maybe even a mobile climbing wall to keep the kids entertained.

There will be several sponsorship levels for individuals and businesses who would like to participate. Sponsors will receive recognition in print and radio advertising, on the Big Sky Town Center website Farmers Market page, banners space at the market, and a booth at the market if they so choose. All sponsorship funds will be used to promote the market and produce the market merchandise including hats, shirts, reusable shopping bags, and bumper stickers.

The response from the first community meeting has been great, and more information will be coming in the following weeks. If you would like to volunteer for the planning committee or if you would like to receive more information about sponsorship and vending, please contact 406.570.2417 or email towncenter@bresnan.net.
