The read a thon will be March 12 at 1:00 pm in the Ophir Library.
Ophir School's 4th students will raise funds for their annual trip to Yellowstone in the spring by hosting a read a thon. Community members are invited to make a pledge based on a monetary amount per page or a flat pledge of whatever they feel comfortable with.
Student costs include food, gear, and transportation throughout their week in May while exploring local geology, ecology and indigenous culture in Lamar Valley, Mammoth Hot Springs and Norris Geyser Basin. Luckily the generous contributions of OSC and Big Sky Rotary pay for student instruction and lodging while the volunteerism of local community chaperones reduce the cost burden.
You can also donate directly through Mr. Harder's classroom or approach a local 4th grader and ask them about their trip and details of their fundraiser! jeremyharder@hotmail.com
