Looking for a fun idea for a girls or guys night out, a couples evening, or a way to meet new people, and the best part......you get to eat your work!

Greetings from The Gourmet Gals! Nancy Butler will continue hosting cooking classes for the Adult Education Program through Ophir school. It will be held at the Simkins-Hallin Showroom in the RJS Tower Building in the Town Center (Grizzly Outfitters Building) on Monday evenings from 7-8:30. The six-week class theme is “Soup’s On.” Learn to make the perfect chowder, lentil, Italian chicken or French onion soup for your family and friends.

Drop-in’s are welcome at $15 per class, and a discount will be given for registrations for all classes.

March 1st

“The Base of it all”  The difference between stocks and broths and how to make them from scratch with ease

March 8th

“Chowder Hound”  We will make a chowder base with each student creating their own, personalized soup.  Salmon? Corn? Sausage? Crab?  What will yours be?!

March 15th

“Lentil”  Hearty vegetarian version that's quick and simple and will satisfy even the most devout carnivore!  We will also make delicious crisps to round out this meal.

March 22nd

“Italian Chicken Soup”  What does pesto have to do with chicken soup?  Find out in this fabulous twist on a classic feel-good staple.

March 29th

“Classic French Onion”  Everybody's favorite.  No need to go to a restaurant to enjoy – learn how to make this classic at home for your friends and family.
