Mark your calendar and show your support for an all-new Big Sky Fly Fishing Festival coming to Big Sky on Monday, July 5th, presented by Lone Mountain Ranch and Gallatin River Guides. The event is free and open to the public. Bring your kids, spouse, family and friends to the new Pavilion Park on Ousel Falls Rd and Aspen Drive at the Town Center for a fun-filled day of fly fishing instruction, entertainment, good food, and environmental conservation!
Starting at 2pm there will activities for kids of all ages including casting demonstrations by Mike Atwell, women’s clinic with Maggie Merriman, games and activities, presentations by local experts including Craig Mathews and Blue Water Task Force, fly-tying, and photography.
There will be great give-a-ways, including a guided float trip from Lone Mountain Ranch and new rod from Gallatin River Guides; tackle and gear; gift cards and merchandise from many local businesses.
A Pig Roast with all the fixings by The Bluebird Cafe, and live music by Tumbledown House will cap off the day.
Local manufacturers and businesses include Orvis (with their casting course), Winston, Sage, Dr. Slick, SIMMS, Montana Outdoor Science School, Trout Unlimited, artist Derek DeYoung, Lone Peak Tap House and Grill and many more!
