It was March of 1990 when Big Sky Western Bank (BSWB) first opened their doors to customers in Big Sky, Montana.   In the past 18 years BSWB has grown locally to 5 branches (300 million in assets) and can also be accessed state wide through its parent holding company Glacier Bancorp Inc. (GBCI).  GBCI is the holding company of Glacier Bank-Kalispell, Western Security Bank-Billings, Big Sky Western Bank-Bozeman, Glacier Bank-Whitefish, First Security Bank-Missoula, Valley Bank- Helena, First Bank of Montana-Lewistown, Mountain West Bank-Idaho, Washington and Utah, First Bank-Wyoming, Citizens Community Bank-Idaho and First National Bank of Morgan-Utah.  In essence with eleven affiliate banks you are provided with over 70 branches in 5 different states to accommodate your banking needs.

Locally you can visit our Big Sky Branch at 55 Lone Peak Drive.  This new building was opened December of 2004 when the Main Branch and Auto Branch in Big Sky were combined to provide our customers with depository and lending services all from one location.  Current lobby hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Thursday and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Fridays.  For customer convenience, the drive-up is open 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday and 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays.

As BSWB began to grow they traveled down the mountain and into the valley.  In 1995, they opened their second branch at 7740 Shedhorn Drive (Four Corners).  Again BSWB was the first bank to provide financial services to this area of the ever growing Gallatin Valley.

Traveling further into Bozeman is our Bozeman West Branch at 4150 Valley Commons Drive.  Our largest branch to date houses our management team, accounting department and central loan processing department, as well as being a full service branch.

In the fall of 2003 BSWB opened it‘s Downtown branch at 106 E Babcock.  This branch has allowed BSWB to extend their services to the beautiful downtown section of Bozeman as well as surrounding areas.  As of June 2004 the Downtown branch also become home to the BSWB Real Estate Department.

In August of 2006 BSWB continued their journey through the Gallatin Valley by opening the doors to their newest location which is housed in Belgrade at 300 Jackrabbit Lane.  Belgrade like all BSWB locations is a full service lending and depository bank.

With all the national news lately about certain individual out-of-state banks, Montana’s insured depositors should know their money is safe.  When Big Sky Western Bank opened its doors, it made a pledge to always offer sound and responsible banking.  Today, because of that pledge, BSWB is strong, growing and prosperous.  This rock solid position is because BSWB doesn’t take risks with money – they never have and never will.

Ron Ostermiller, Big Sky Western Bank’s President, Christine MacDonald, Big Sky’s Branch Manager, Billie Tomlinson, Big Sky’s Lender and Alexis Deaton, Big Sky’s Operations Manager hope you will come into the bank to access the services Big Sky Western Bank offers, including, Certificates of Deposit, Business and Personal Loans, Savings Accounts, Safe Deposit Boxes and Totally Free Checking with a free gift.

The staff of BSWB invites you to visit our full service branch locations in the Gallatin Valley and those of our sister banks through out Montana, Washington, Idaho and Wyoming.   You can also visit BSWB at www.bigskybank.com  Big Sky Western Bank is a member FDIC and an Equal Housing Lender.  For more information locally please call 406-995-2321.
