The BSSHA has finally published the rink schedule here. This is our first crack at a rink schedule, so if you have any comments or suggestions, please let us know by replying to this email or you may send an email to bigskyice@gmail.com. Puck lunch anyone? Or maybe broomball during lunch? What a great way to burn off some steam and still clock back in for the afternoon!

To play during the youth or adult hockey time slots, you or your kids will need to be a member of USA Hockey (for insurance purposes). You may register here. The annual membership fee is only $34, and includes some insurance coverage and a great hockey magazine delivered to you 10 times each year!
To play during the youth or adult hockey time slots, or the broomball time slots, you will be required to join the BSSHA. Once you're a member of the BSSHA, you will not be asked to contribute during the public skating time slots, but donations are always accepted and greatly appreciated. The family rate is only $75/year, the individual rate is only $50/year, children 11-18 are only $20/year, and in keeping with ski pass tradition in Big Sky, kids 10 and under are free! For those of you accustomed to hockey registration fees, you know that these rates are very low. Our friends at the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation have helped keep these membership rates low. BSSHA registration info will be forthcoming in the next few days, as will information on coaches for the youth hockey time slots. It is our goal to start with youth pickup hockey and steadily work towards a coached youth hockey program. Adults - feel free to form teams and organize games during the adult pickup hockey time slots.
For the public skating time slots, we respectfully request a contribution of $5/family, or $3/individual to help offset maintenance and snow removal expenses. There is a donation canister near the hockey rink. These are your rinks, so please help keep them open by following the suggested donation.
The rinks are open from noon to 10pm daily. Helmets are strongly recommended.
The "Dinky Rink" is intended for kids and those just learning to skate. Please, no sticks or pucks on this rink.
The Alpine Ice Rink is available for rent for a spirited family broomball or hockey game, a birthday party, your own solo skating time, or whatever occasion you want! The fee is $100/hr for a weekend time slot, and $75/hr for a weekday time slot. The ice rental fee includes ice resurfacing prior to rental.
Town Center's Grizzly Outfitters offers $5 skate rentals and sharpening: 406-995-2939.
Feel free to use the Rotherham Construction warming hut trailer before and after your skate. Putting on your skates in the hut and walking on the rubber mats to the rink is a great way to start your skate.
Please enjoy the rinks, be safe, and take care of them as if they were your own - because they are!
