5th Annual Haunted Peaks Halloween Festival

A three day Halloween celebration in Big Sky Town Center. This all ages event is filled with traditional holiday activities, films, music and great Fall fun.  PLEASE NOTE: Due to the current high transmission rate of COVID-19 in Gallatin County many of our traditional activities are being offered virtually or have been scaled back. Masking, social distancing and sanitizing are necessary when attending any indoor events or larger gatherings.

Below is our tentative itinerary of holiday events. Last updated Oct. 20.

FRIDAY OCT. 29

  • Haunted Peaks Kickoff  Party: Join us as we kick off Haunted Peaks with some haunted beats by local legends DJ TAKEaCHANCE and Jenn-N-Juice at Tips Up at 9 PM. Make sure your costume game is on point for a chance to win $100 cash and other prize packs from local businesses.
  • 2021 Haunted Peaks Geocache Mystery Day 1: Follow the clues and solve mysteries to win hidden prizes all weekend long. Simply be one of the first 10 groups to message Big Sky Town Center on Facebook or Instagram to register your team and get your first clue.
  • Haunted Peaks Window Display Competition Day 1: Stroll through downtown, listen to our Haunted Peaks Radio playing throughout the Town Center and admire the spooky creativity of local merchants and artists as they decorate their storefronts for our annual window display competition. Vote for your favorites by stopping in to any of the participating businesses and casting your vote at the ballot box by the checkout counter by 10 PM Saturday, Oct. 30. Winners will be announced Halloween day on Town Center’s Instagram and Facebook.
  • Virtual Horror Film Festival Day 1: Enjoy three days of curated horror film playlist for all ages. Tune in and watch from the safety of your home with family and friends. Check back for links to the 2021 playlists. Last year’s playlists included Urban Legends, Indiewire’s Greatest Horror Films and their Family Friendly movies.

SATURDAY OCT. 30

  • 2nd Annual Run To The Pub Presented By Moving Mountains Fitness: Rock your favorite costume and brave 5k of terror and fun Halloween themed challenges hosted by Moving Mountains with help from Beehive Basin Brewery and Steele Pressed Juice. Race starts at 1 PM. Packet pick up and registration will be located at Moving Mountains and ends at 12:15 PM. We are working to move the race from the roads to trails this year. There will be a short shuttle to the race starting line. Please be on time for registration so we can get our event started promptly at 1pm. Check back for route info announcement. The race will finish at Moving Mountains. Afterwards, enjoy live music, food and beverages, a costume contest and Halloween fun for the whole family courtesy of our Town Center East end businesses.   • Haunted House Presented By Haas Builders & Discovery Academy: Spooky adventures await those brave enough to enter. See poltergeists, vampires, werewolves and more. All proceeds go towards the good work of the Big Sky Discovery Academy. Runs 3-9 PM at Haas Builders located at 223 Town Center Ave.
  • Haunted Peaks Concert Pub Crawl: Featuring Shakewell Presented By Lone Mountain Land Co. & Big Sky Real Estate: Haunted Peaks is known for booming block parties and funky vibes. This year we are working with our friends at Lone Mountain Land Co. and Big Sky Real Estate to add a fun twist to the holiday celebration. Join costumed party goers for an evening of progressive pub crawling and intimate concerts with local acts through Town Center. The final stop will feature a costume dance party to remember with headliners Shakewell (6 piece funk, neo-soul and rock’n roll band) at Tips Up. The evening’s shows will include: Tom Marino at Beehive Basin Brewery 2-5 PM, Wes Urbaniak at Acre Kitchen 5-7 PM, Josh ‘The Saxman” Zaldonis at Pinky G’s Pizza 8-10 PM, Shakewell at Tip Up 10 PM-1 AM.

  • Pumpkin King & Queen Carving Competition: Bring your carved pumpkins with  battery operated votives to our team’s booth at Fire Pit Park between 12-1 PM Halloween day to enter the contest. Our team of judges will pick their favorite designs and crown the Pumpkin King & Queen at 1 PM. Winners will receive prize packs from local businesses. NOTE: Get your pumpkins and support the great efforts of the Big Sky Community Food Bank at the 2021 Great Pumpkin Giveaway, Oct. 23 at Fire Pit Park from 12-4 PM. Make a canned food donation of 5 items (soup preferred) and pick out your prize pumpkin. Limit of 3 per family.
  • Mini Monster Mash: Make the most of those cute Halloween costumes and bring the kids out for the Mini Monster Mash costume contest and trick or treat at Fire Pit Park from 1-2 PM. Win fun prizes, enjoy free candy bags and dance around the fire pit to a kid friendly curated Halloween playlist.
  • Yappy Hour Presented By The Rocks: Costume contest and happy hour for people and pets from 2-4 PM at Fire Pit Park across from The Rocks. Win prizes from our panel of pet friendly celebrity judges, enjoy drink specials, treats, and help raise funds and awareness for RUFF (local nonprofit providing vital veterinary care to the underserved members of the Big Sky community).
